Captured ship: Molly (master Sanford Munro).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (sloop, 43 tons, 1 gun, 6 men) bound from Providence, Rhode Island to St Croix, Danish West Indies, laden with tobacco, hoops, onions; taken on 18 March 1779 in latitude 33°0'N, longitude 62°0'W by the loyalist privateer Southerland (John Taylor commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the United States to the Caribbean Islands.
