Captured ship: Molly (master Thomas Chamberlain).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (sloop, 70 tons, 9 men) bound from Cap François, Saint Domingue to North Carolina, laden with salt, molasses, dry goods; taken on 2 February 1778 in latitude 28°30'N, longitude 74°W by the loyalist privateer Levant (John Martin commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to the United States.
