High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: Moissoneur (master Jacques François Sanctos).
History: a French merchant ship (150 or 200 tons, 2 guns, 24 men), bound from the East Indies via Cayenne to St Malo, laden with cotton, rocou, cocoa, redwood, indigo; taken on 18 August 1779 in latitude 42°30'N, longitude 22°W of Paris by the privateer Sturdy Beggar (Peter Humphries commanding), and brought into Liverpool.
Court papers: 1-4; Ship's papers: 5-9. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
