British New York Vice-Admiralty Court.
Captured ship: Mary (master Louis Jenne).
History: an American merchant ship (brigantine 80 tons, 10 men), bound from Hispaniola to Dartmouth, Massachusetts, laden with molasses, sugar, coffee; taken on 24 January 1783 off the Delaware in latitude 40°N, longitude 73°W by the privateer Charming Polly (John Shannon commanding), and brought into New York.
Court papers: 1-3; Ship's papers: 4-10. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
