Captured ship: St Jacques (master Paul Beaulieu ).
History: a French merchant ship (brigantine, 80 tons, 16 men, 3 passengers), bound from Cayenne to St Pierre et Miquelon, laden with coffee, cocoa, cotton, molasses, rum, wine, oil, brandy, medicines, cordage, clothing, cloth and dry goods,; taken on 27 January 1778 in latitude 32°N, longitude 70°55'W off North Carolina by the privateer Pole (James Maddock commanding), and brought into New York.
Court papers: 1-6; Ship's papers: 7-14. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
