High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: L'Hercule (commander Balthazar Tardieu).
History: a French merchant ship with commission (280 tons, 16 guns, 38 men), bound from Martinique to Bordeaux, laden with sugar, cotton, cocoa, coffee; taken on 26 March 1779 in latitude 44°N, by the privateer London of London (Thomas Walker commanding), and brought into Falmouth.
Court papers: 1-4; Ship's papers: 5-20. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
