Captured ship: Harlem (master John Simonton).
History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 45 tons), bound from St Eustatius to Falmouth, Massachusetts, laden with gunpowder, arms, salt, rum, sugar, cotton, coffee; taken on 19 July 1776 in latitude 39°30'N, longitude 74°W near the Nantucket Shoals, Massachusetts by HMS Brune (James Ferguson commanding), and brought into New York.
Court papers: 1-4; Ship's papers: 5-45. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
