Captured ship: Happy Return (master Houghton).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (schooner, 60 tons), laden with sugar, rum; taken on 16 February 1779 in latitude 39°N, longitude 75°W off Sinepuxent, Maryland by the loyalist privateers Germaine (Robert Campbell commanding), and Castor (Thomas Webster commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to the United States.
