Capture history: an American merchant ship (ship, abandoned by her crew, 1 prisoner left on board), laden with flour; taken on 8 April 1782 in Delaware Bay several miles above Cape May by the loyalist privateer Fair American (William Neilson commanding), in the sight of several other ships, and brought into New York.
