Captured ship: General Green (commander Aaron Crowel).
Capture history: an American privateer (ship, 140 tons, 16 guns, 89 men), on a cruise; taken on 30 August 1782 in latitude 40°N, by HMS Ceres (James Hawkins commanding), and HMS Perseverance (Skeffington Lutwidge commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: a cruise from the United States.
