Captured ship: Le Fredericke (master Auguste De Liesse).
History: a French merchant ship (580 tons, 36 men), bound from Cap Francois, Saint Domingue, to Nantes, laden with sugar, coffee, cotton and indigo; taken on 23 August 1778 in latitude 47°N, longitude 13°W of Paris by HMS Hussar (Elliot Salter commanding), and brought into Portsmouth..
