Captured ship: Franklin of Salem, Massachusetts (commander Silas Devol).
History: an American privateer (ship, 200 tons, 16 guns, 61 men), taken on 3 April 1782 off the Capes of Viriginia by HMS Amphion (John Bazely commanding), and HMS Amphitrite (Robert Biggs commanding), and brought into New York.
