Captured ship: Francis of St Eustatius (master Thomas Baker).
Capture history: an American (or Dutch) merchant ship (sloop, 50 tons) bound from St Eustatius to Edlington [Edenton], North Carolina, laden with salt; taken on 21 April 1777 in latitude 33°40'N, longitude 74°30'W by HMS Galatea (Thomas Jordan commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to the United States.
