Captured ship: Fanny (master John Maidie or Moodie).
History: an American merchant ship, bound from Stoning Town [Stonington], Connecticut to Baltimore, Maryland, laden with loaf sugar, oil; taken on 5 June 1777 about 11 leagues S of Montauk Point, Maryland by HMS Dispatch sloop (Christopher Mason commanding), and brought into New York.
