Captured ship: Fancy (master Zaccheus Coffin).
History: an American merchant ship (sloop, 20 tons, 4 men) bound from Primehook Creek, Delaware to Nantucket, Massachusetts, laden with Indian corn, flour, pork; taken on 8 June 1779 about 100 miles E of the Capes of Delaware by the loyalist privateers Tryon (George Sibbles commanding) and Experiment (Alexander MacPherson commanding), and brought into New York.
