Captured ship: La Fanchon of Brest (master René Clement).
History: a French merchant ship. (60 tons, 9 guns, 6 men, 4 passengers), bound from Brest via Ferrol to Martinique, laden with beef, clothing, linen; taken on 9 March 1779 near the Canary Islands about thirteen leagues from the coast of Spain by the privateer Queen Charlotte (James Kenrick commanding), and brought into the River Thames.
Court papers: 1-15; Ship's papers: 16-21. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
