Captured ship: Fame (commander John Taylor).
History: an American merchant ship with a letter of marque (brigantine, 30 tons, 9 guns, 47 men) bound on a cruise; taken on 8 April 1781 at Sandy Hook [New Jersey] by HMS Orpheus (John Colpoys commanding), and brought into New York.
