High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: L'Erasmé (commander Nicolas La Motte Herpin).
History: a French naval fireship (350 tons, 2 guns, 30 men), bound from St Malo to Brest; taken on 17 August 1778 two leagues north of Isle of Bass [île de Batz, Brittany] by HMS Fox (Thomas Windsor commanding), and HMS Pluto fireship (James Bradby commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
Court papers: 1-6; Ship's papers: 7-7. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
