Captured ship: L'Equité (master Bernard Corto).
History: a French merchant ship (280 or 300 tons, 1 gun, 26 men), bound from Cap Francois, Saint Domingue to Bordeaux, laden with sugar, coffee, indigo, cotton, tortoiseshell; taken on 19 November 1778 at latitude 43°30'N, longitude 14°W by the privateer Mary (Robert Bonsall commanding), and brought into Liverpool.
Court papers: 1-28; Ship's papers: 29-50. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
