History: a British merchant ship (50 tons, 4 men) bound from Cork to Bristol, laden with hides and tallow; taken by the French privateer Renard of Dunkirk (John Farren commanding) off the coast of Ireland south of Dungarvan on 11 December 1782, retaken on 13 December 1782 off Padstow by customs officers of the port and brought into Padstow..
