Captured ship: De Elizabeth en Sophia (master Jan Rousman).
History: a Dutch merchant ship (300 tons, 14 men, 5 passengers), bound from St Eustatius to Amsterdam, laden with sugar, tobacco, coffee; taken on 22 January 1781 at the mouth of the English Channel by HMS Prudente (William Waldegrave commanding), in sight of HMS Ambuscade and HMS Proserpine, and brought into Plymouth.
Court papers: 1-65; Ship's papers: 66-82. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
