High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: Elizabeth otherwise Betsey (master John Pill).
History: a British merchant ship retaken from French (between 50 and 60 tons, 3 men), bound from Guernsey to Bristol via Marazion, Mounts Bay, laden with claret, port wine; taken on 6 June 1780 by the French privateer Compte de Maurepas, retaken on 7 June 1780 by the privateers Dolphin (Francis Ford commanding) and Union (John Broom commanding), and brought into Penzance.
Court papers: 1-12; Ship's papers: 13-24. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
