Captured ship: Elizabeth of Londonderry (master Joseph Curry).
History: an Irish merchant ship retaken from French (200 tons, 5 guns, 12 men), bound from St Petersburg to Londonderry, laden with hemp, iron, tallow; taken on 10 August 1779, 20 leagues SSW from Christiansand [Kristiansand], Norway by the French privateer Revanche (Jacques Perre commanding), retaken on 17 August 1779, 7 leagues from Flushing by HMS Nimble (Lieutenant William Jones commanding), and brought first into the Downs and then into the River Thames.
Court papers: 1-12; Ship's papers: 13-48. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
