Captured ship: Eliza of Glasgow (master Hamilton Foster).
History: a Scottish merchant ship (210 tons, 8 guns, 25 men), bound from Port Morant, Jamaica to Glasgow, laden with rum, sugar; taken on 15 November 1781 60 leagues west of Cape Clear by the American privateer Grand Turc of Salem (Joseph Pret commanding), retaken on 21 November 1781 west of Cape Clear by the privateer York (James Remon commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
Court papers: 1-22; Ship's papers: 23-63. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
