Description

High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Einigkeit (master Johan Knudt).

History: a Danish merchant ship (117 tons, 2 guns, 8 men), bound from Marseilles to Le Havre, laden with soap, oil, brimstone, cotton, sumach, vitriol, liquorice, sweet wood, cream of tartar, sponges; taken on 16 September 1778 in latitude 49°N by the privateer Hawke (Thomas Clarke commanding), and brought into Falmouth.

Court papers: 1-32; Ship's papers: 33-70. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
