Captured ship: Eagle (master David Earl).
History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 20 tons) bound from Rappahannock, Virginia to Surinam, laden with tobacco; taken on 17 August 1777 in latitude 34°30N', longitude 63°40'W by the loyalist schooner [with no commission] Peggy of Antigua (John Casey commanding), and brought into New York.
