Captured ship: Eagle (master Leveridge Stephens).
History: an American merchant ship (sloop, 30-40 tons), bound from Goodwives River, Connecticut, to Norwich, Connecticut, laden with flour and wheat; taken on 10 June 1778 at Goodwives River by HMS Diligent (Thomas Farnham commanding) and by HMS Troy (John Henry commanding), and brought into New York.
