Captured ship: Eagle (master James Ross).
History: an American merchant ship (schooner, 35 tons, 5 men) bound from Surinam to Boston, laden with molasses, cordage and duck; taken on 24 May 1778 in latitude 32°N, longitude 62°W by the loyalist privateer Enterprize (Daniel Squire commanding), and brought into New York.
