Captured ship: Diana (commander Footman or Trotman of Rhode Island).
Capture history: an American privateer (ship, 150 tons, 10 guns, 35 men, owned by Mr Shaw) bound from Boston, Massachusetts to Virginia, on a cruise; taken on 16 February 1783 between the Capes of Virginia and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by the loyalist privateer Witch (unknown commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: a cruise from the United States.
