Captured ship: Crow Lane of Bermuda (master Clive Bean or McBane).
Capture history: a British merchant ship (sloop, 30 or 40 tons, 7 men), bound from Turks Island to Virginia, laden with salt; taken on 1 January 1779 near Cape Henry by the privateer Experiment (Alexander McPherson commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: within the United States.
