High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: Le Compte de Bois Gostin [Le Comte de Bois Gostin] (master Mathieu Auge Gilbert).
History: a French privateer (brigantine, 80 tons, 12 guns, 50 crew and 13 English prisoners), bound from Isle de Bréhat on a cruise; taken on 17 October 1782 about 20 leagues from Ushant by HMS Romney ([Thomas] Lewis commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
Court papers: 1-8; Ship's papers: 9-10. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
