Captured ship: Le Chevreuil (commander Andre Charles Marquis de Lajaille).
History: a French warship (160 tons, 18 guns, 131 men, 7 passengers), bound from Fort Royal [Fort-de-France], Martinique to some port in France; taken on 14 December 1780 at twelve leagues southwest of Scilly by HMS Monsieur (Charles Phipps commanding), and brought into Plymouth.
Court papers: 1-13; Ship's papers: 14-14. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
