Captured ship: Charming Sally (master John Carey). Capture hHistory: an American merchant ship (sloop, 40 tons, 4 guns, 5 men) bound from Baltimore, Maryland to Martinique, laden with tobacco; taken on 25 January 1779 about 3° S of the Capes of Virginia by the loyalist privateer Musquito (Graham Barnes commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the United States to the Caribbean Islands.
