Captured ship: Le Candor (master Matthew Lucett).
History: a French merchant ship (60 tons, 5 men), bound from St Martin to Les Sables d'Olonne, laden with timber and tallow; taken on 29 June 1781 in latitude 45°20'N about 14° from Iron Island by the privateer Greyhound (Nelson commanding), and brought into Bristol.
Court papers: 1-6; Ship's papers: 7-8. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
