Captured ship: Bridget or Brigitte (master Christopher Bassett).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (brigantine, 100 tons, 8 men) bound from Grenada to Virginia, laden with rum; taken on 9 November 1782 in latitude 36°40'N, longitude 74°W by the loyalist privateer Surprize (John Hall commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: within the United States.
