Captured ship: Bonetta (commander Comte de Barras).
Capture history: a French warship (sloop of war, 350 tons, 16 guns, 110 men, previously HMS Bonetta (Ralph Dundas commanding), seized by the French at the surrender of the British forces at Yorktown, Virginia on 19 October 1781), now bound from Virginia to Martinique; retaken on 4 January 1782 at Cape Henry, Virginia by HMS Amphion (John Bazeley commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the United States to the Caribbean Islands.
