Captured ship: Betsey (master John Cullogan).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (brigantine); taken in 1782 by HMS Santa Margarita (Elliot Salter commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the United States to [unknown].
Court papers numbered CP 1-2:-
- [CP 1]: monition, 22 June 1782;
- [CP 2]: affidavit of papers brought in by the prize master Charles Burrough, mate, 11 July 1782.
[Decision: condemned, if no response to the monition by 13 July 1782].
[Papers previously wrongly identified as Court papers: 1-2 (large pencil numbers): sorted and renumbered in 2024].
