Captured ship: Betsey (master Thomas Stowe).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (sloop, 15 men) bound from St Eustatius to South Carolina, laden with rum, gin, sugar, salt, dry goods; taken on 22 July 1778 in latitude 36°N, west of Ocracoke Bar, North Carolina by the loyalist privateer Enterprise (Daniel Squire commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to the United States.
