Captured ship: Bedford (master Thomas Maxfield).
HCapture hstory: an American merchant ship (60 or 120 tons, 8 men) bound from Dartmouth, Massachusetts to North Carolina, laden with wine, rum; taken on 9 March 1778 in latitude 36°30'N, longitude 74°30'W off North Carolina by the loyalist privateer Loyal Subject (Andrew Sym commanding), and brought into New York.
