Captured ship: Le Bebet (master Antoine Fournier).
History: a French merchant ship (200 tons, 2 guns, 16 men), bound from Bordeaux to Martinique, laden with butter, wine, brandy, oil, candles, corn, cheese, prunes, nails; taken on 23 October 1778 by the privateer Tartar (John Chilcott commanding), and brought into Bristol.
Court papers: 1-11; Ship's papers: 12-29. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
