Captured ship: L'Avanture (master Simon le Blanc).
History: a French merchant ship (130-140 tons, 12 men), bound from Bordeaux to St Pierre and Miquelon, laden with salt, wine, flour and other merchandise; taken on 21 September 1778 westward of Belle Isle by the privateer Greyhound (Richard John commanding), and brought into Falmouth..
Court papers: 1-26; Ship's papers: 27-33. [These are interim paper numbers, and are likely to change once more fully catalogued].
