Captured ship: Aimable Denise of Bordeaux (master Arnaud Minbielle).
Capture history: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (130 tons, 24 guns, 22 men and 3 passengers) bound from Bordeaux to Saint Domingue, laden with wine and flour; taken on 23 January 1780 in latitude 46°30N, longitude 20°W, by the privateer Elizabeth of Bristol (Isaac Matthews commanding), and brought into Bristol.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to France.
