High Court of Admiralty.
Captured ship: Aimable Denise of Bordeaux (master Arnaud Minbielle).
Capture history: a French merchant ship with a letter of marque (130 tons, 24 guns, 22 men and 3 passengers) bound from Bordeaux to Saint Domingue, laden with wine and flour; taken on 23 January 1780 in latitude 46°30N, longitude 20°W, by the privateer Elizabeth of Bristol (Isaac Matthews commanding), and brought into Bristol.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to France.
Court papers numbered CP 1-6:-
- [CP 1]: attestation as to papers (numbered 1-8) brought in by the prize master Thomas Marsh, 15 February 1780;
- [CP 2]: depositions of Arnaud Minbielle, Jean Duran surgeon and Pierre Courpon, Bristol, 17-19 February 1780;
- [CP 3]: attestation as to the perishing nature of the cargo, and request for a commission of unlivery, 19 February 1780;
- [CP 4]: further attestation as to papers, of bills of lading A-E, not previously delivered, by Matthews, 25 February 1780;
- [CP 5]: allegation;
- [CP 6]: translations of ship's papers.

- SP A-SP E: bills of lading.
