Captured ship: Aimable Claris of L'Isle aux Moines (master Joseph Kergalant).
Capture history: a French merchant ship (coaster, 45 tons, 6 men) bound from Vannes to Bayonne, laden with salt; taken on 26 September 1778 about 15 leagues from Bordeaux by the privateer Active (Clement Messervy commanding), and brought into Jersey.
Intended voyage: within France.
