Captured ship: Aimable Catichette (master Etienne Pater).
Capture history: a French merchant ship (brigantine, 130 tons, 20 men) bound from Guadeloupe to Virginia, laden with salt, rum, wine, cocoa, coffee; taken on 17 March 1783 by HMS Amphion (John Bazely commanding), and HMS Cyclops (Brabazon Christian commanding), and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to the United States.
