Captured ship: L'Aigle (commander Louis-René Madelaine Le Vassor, Comte de la Touche).
Capture history: a French naval frigate; taken in fight on 14 September 1782 in the Delaware River by HMS Warwick (George Keith Elphinstone commanding), HMS Lion (William Fookes commanding), HMS Vestal (William Fox commanding), HMS Bonetta (Richard Goodwin Keates commanding) and brought into New York.
Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to the United States.
