Captured ship: Agneau (commander Jacques Perre).
Capture history: a French privateer with a letter of marque (50 tons, 6 guns, 49 men) bound from Dunkirk on cruise against the English; taken on 15 August 1778 off the coast of Holland by HMS Amphitrite (Thomas Gaborian commanding), and brought into the Downs.
Intended voyage: a cruise from France.
