Captured ship: Adventure (master Robert Richardson).
Capture history: an American merchant ship (sloop, 35 tons, 7 men) bound from Talbot County, Maryland to St Eustatius, laden with tobacco and flour; taken off the Capes of Virginia on 28 March 1778 by HMS Preston (Samuel Uppleby commanding), and brought into [New York].
Intended voyage: from the United States to the Caribbean Islands.
