Description

High Court of Admiralty.

Captured ship: Admiral Rodney formerly Reward (master Robert Julius succeeding John Strevens, junior).

Capture history: an English merchant ship, seized by the French at the Island of Grenada [August 1779], retaken in 1780 by a Royal Navy ship, and brought into London.

Intended voyage: from the Caribbean Islands to England.

Court papers numbered CP 1:-

  • [CP 1]: attestation and claim of James Dyer for himself and Peter Thelluson, John Cossart, John Aubert, Edward Simons, Paul Meslears and John Strevens senior, merchants of London and owners of the ship, November 1790.
