Captured ship: Adams of Marseilles formerly Jean Baptiste of Marseilles (master Pierre Charabot).
Capture history: a French merchant ship (snow, 88 or 145 tons, 10 men, 2 passengers) bound from Bordeaux to the islands of St Pierre et Miquelon, laden with salt and bale goods; taken on 18 July 1778 about 50 or 60 leagues off Madeira by the privateer Alarm (William Richardson commanding), and brought into Guernsey.
Intended voyage: from France to New France.
