Crime: Stealing copper and blocktin from Messrs Campbell and Ibotson [former employers].
Initial sentence: Two years imprisonment with hard labour.
Annotated: 'Nil May 20 1828'.
Petitioner(s): Peter Wilson (the convict) undersigned by Messrs Campbell and Ibotson (prosecutors) and 25 inhabitants of Sculcoates [in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire].
Grounds for clemency: His confederate has been pardoned; he has a wife and five children under 13 years of age who are now dependent upon the parish for support.
Other papers: A certificate of good conduct in gaol signed by Michael Bithill and Joseph Coltman (visiting magistrates) and by William Hildyard (prison chaplain).
Additional Information: Indicted with Robert Walker (tinner and brazier) who was convicted for receiving the stolen goods and who was pardoned after one year. Wilson was held in the Beverley House of Correction.
